Overview

PRINCE2 Agile® combines the governance of PRINCE2® with the flexibility of Agile to provide a comprehensive agile project management solution. It provides structure, governance, and control while working with agile and tailoring management controls. That way, practitioners can focus on management and delivery, incorporate any agile method, achieve deadlines consistently, and increase stakeholder confidence.

Designed for PRINCE2® or PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation certification holders, PRINCE2 Agile® Practitioner is a credential which verifies your ability to practically apply the method to real-life scenarios. Practitioners with this credential can effectively combine structure, governance and control with agile methods, techniques, and approaches.

  • Understand the basic concepts of common agile ways of working 
  • Understand the purpose and context for combining PRINCE2® and the agile way of working

Prerequisites

To be eligible for the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner certification examination, candidates should hold one of the following certifications:

  • PRINCE2® Foundation or PRINCE2® Practitioner 
  • PRINCE2 Agile® Foundation
  • Project Management Qualification® (PMQ)*
  • Certified Associate in Project Management® (CAPM)*
  • IPMA Levels A, B, C and D® (Certified Projects Director)

Examination Format

  • Objective testing
  • 50 multiple choice questions, each worth one (1) mark
  • 2.5 hours duration
  • Passing criteria is 60%, i.e. 30 out of 50 marks
  • Open book exam

What’s Next?

The Practitioner certification is the highest level in the PRINCE2 Agile certification scheme. That said, you can expand your project management knowledge and skill with other project management certifications such as PMI-RMP® or PMP®.

Exam & Certification FAQs

Is training mandatory?

No, training is not mandatory. However, AXELOS strongly recommends attending an accredited PRINCE2 Agile course before attempting the examination.

 

What is the format of the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner examination?

The exam is scenario based. This means you will attempt questions related to a vase study. You will find examples of these questions in the Scenario Booklet as well as sample papers offered by AXELOS.

 

What is the breakdown of the exam?

According to AXELOS, the following are the exam sections you will need to attempt:

    • 6 multiple choice questions based on the first and second learning outcome
    • 12 multiple choice questions using the scenario and one set of additional information based on the third learning outcome 
    • 8 multiple choice questions using the scenario and one set of additional information based on the fourth learning outcome
    • 24 multiple choice questions using the scenario and one set of additional information based on the fifth learning outcome

 

How long will it take to receive my exam results?

Candidates may receive examination results immediately after the web-based examination. Final results and the certificate are sent via email within two to three working days.

 

Is the exam offered only in English?

No. You can also opt to attempt the exam in Dutch, German, or Polish.

 

When will my PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner Certification expire?

The certification will expire in three years. To maintain your qualification, you need to either retake the PRINCE2 Agile Practitioner exam before the expiry date or follow the CPD points and digital badge route. For the latter, you need to subscribe to MY PRINCE2.
